Ice facial is one of the most effective facials to reduce acne, and face puffiness and to create a perfect base for long-lasting makeup.
In this ice facial, the ice massage is done in a circular motion with little to no pressure. This leads to vasoconstriction or contraction of the blood vessels, when these vessels expand again, there is a rush of blood inside the face. This is why the ice facial gives your face a pink hue and a healthy glow.
In this article, we will talk about how an ice facial should be performed at home and what are the do’s and don’ts that you should consider.

How Ice Facial Works?
As explained above, when you touch ice on your skin the blood vessels shy away by contracting or squinching themselves. After that, they expand again, resulting in a rush of blood that washes out the toxins and fills the face with new refreshed blood. That’s how ice facials calm down your skin and reduce acne (source).
This also squeezes the pores your skin has thereby toning it and making a perfect ground for makeup. The makeup after the ice facial lasts longer and appears flawless.
How to Do Ice Facial at Home
Just take out an ice roller or ice cube and rub it in a circular motion on your face and neck. Cover the whole face and do it for about 2-3 minutes. You are now good to go, either moisturize your face or start your makeup.
Ice Facial can also be done with chilled water in a bowl. Take a big bowl and add ice cubes and water to it. The water should be icy cold. Now dip your face in it and keep it for 5 seconds then take it out, breathe and do it again. You can repeat these steps 3-4 times or more, at your convenience.
