Ingredients
- 3 ripe Bananas
- 3/4 cup Powdered Sugar
- 2 tbsp Ghee/Clarified Butter
- 1/2 cup Yogurt
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup white flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon chocolate chips
You can use only one type of flour depending on your choice. As wheat flour is a more healthy option and white flour is a more tasty option. So choose wisely. Also, Chocolate chips are optional and you can replace them with cherries, walnuts, or any sprinkles of your choice!
Step by Step Instructions to Make Banana Bread
Step 1
Peel & chop 3 bananas in a large bowl and add 3/4 Cup (that means less than 1 cup) of sugar. Beat them together with a hand-mixer or a spatula.
Step 2
When whisked together properly, add 1/2 cup yogurt, 2 tablespoons ghee (you can use any oil as well), and 1 teaspoon vanilla essence to the bowl. Give it a good whisk again.
Step 3
Now take a sieve, add 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Now sift them together in that bowl.
Step 4
Fold them in by the cut and fold method. This incorporates the air inside the cake/bread to make it more fluffy.
Step 5
Add 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips to the batter and fold in. Transfer the batter to a Non Stick bread Baking Tray and pat twice to remove the air bubbles.
Step 6
Bake it in a preheated oven for 45 minutes at 180 degrees. The baking time varies depending upon the specification of your oven, our Convection Microwave Oven took about 45 minutes to bake it beautifully brown. Do insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean, your banana bread is ready!
Pro-tip – Brush some milk on the bread batter before or in the middle of the baking process. This will give it a nice golden brown color!
