Toners are more than just alcoholic water with fragrance, and they really deserve a well-respected place in your skin routine. I am guilty of committing the mistake of not taking my toners seriously too.

However, the Pixi Glow tonic that the whole internet has been raving about, has changed my opinion about toners. I didn’t know that it will work this well on my hormonal acne-prone oily skin. My skin went from bad to fab in just a few weeks!

What’s in Pixi Glow Tonic?

I was skeptical about using an exfoliating toner that has a peeling AHA, that’s glycolic acid in a considerable amount that’s 5 whooping percent. But Boy, was I wrong!

On a cat-tantrum skin like mine that can react to every simple and gentle skincare product, it embraced this one like a charm. No tingling, no purging, and no redness. I think the credit for this goes to the addition of Aloe vera and Ginseng to it.

The presence of an AHA along with some of the most celebrated skincare heroes like aloe vera and ginseng make it the perfect toner for a troubled skin that’s acne-prone and has some dark acne marks too.

As glycolic acid is known to peel the dry and dead skin and expose the good-looking fresh skin from within. If the whole internet is raving about it then they are right, Pixi Nailed it this time!

Things To Consider While Using Pixi Glow Tonic for Acne & Acne Scars?

This one is gentle enough to use every day. If you are using it during the day then don’t forget the sunscreen as exfoliating agents like AHA and BHA make your skin more sensitive to sun rays.

Also, I think you must never ditch the sunscreen if using glycolic or not, it’s the unsung antiaging secret. When you are using this Pixi glow tonic at night then just top it up with your favorite serum and enjoy a beauty sleep.

An article about Glycolic acid on Healthline notes that one must not use these acids for a longer time duration. I couldn’t agree more, so when you finish your bottle of this heavenly glow tonic then opt for the one that just soothes your skin like aloe vera-based or cucumber-based toners and many others. also read – acne dark spot home remedies

How did it work on My Acne-prone skin?

Well, here is this little before and after of it –

Before and After Images after using pixi glow tonic toner for acne
The Redness, Active Acne and Acne Scars have decreased considerably. (Image is subjected to copyright, it belongs to healthyly.)

Within two weeks, my stubborn acne went for good. The redness on the skin calmed down first. Then those nasty bumps started reducing in size.

I noticed a layer of dry skin on my pimples every morning that gets removed on its own. This showed that the glycolic in it is really working on my stubborn acne and the exfoliation part is for real. Well, it happened without any pain or a feeling of peeling so this is another plus.

If you prefer vegan brands then Pixi checks this box as well. It is vegan and cruelty-free. Also, the bottle lasts quite long as you need just a small amount of it in one application.

How to Apply this Glycolic Acid Toner?

Some beauty bloggers suggest applying it directly on the face and then wiping it with cotton to avoid wasting the product. However, I would like to do it the regular way. I apply a few drops of Pixi glow tonic on a cotton pad and then wipe it gently on my cleansed face. Followed by my moisturizer after about two minutes.

How long Should I use this glycolic acid toner by Pixi?

It depends upon your skin concerns and how your skin responds. Starting it at night is a good idea and you can use it during the day once your skin gets accustomed to it. A 100 ml bottle will last for about 2 months minimum and I suggest that you should not buy another bottle straight away. Just give it a gap of at least 1 month to use glycolic acid again.

What to Apply after using glycolic acid toner to my skin?

A moisturizer that suits your skin is a must and followed by a sunscreen if you are using it during the day. Avoid incorporating any other acids in your routine along with glycolic acid. It’s better to play safe than sorry. So invest in a good moisturizer as per your skin types, such as gel-based for oily skin and a heavy-duty one for dry skin folks.  Whatever you do, don’t forget the sunscreen!

Final Verdict  About Pixi Glow Tonic Glycolic Acid Toner

If you are suffering from acne that doesn’t seem to go away with any of the anti-acne skincare products, then try this product. It works slowly so don’t expect any overnight results. You need to give this product about 2 weeks to show results.

The only con of this toner is that it is on the pricey side but believe me it’s worth it as a 100 ml bottle will last about 2-3 months. This will actually reset your skin for good. Give it a try. Wishing you acne-free, glowing beautiful skin! Buy Pixi Glow Tonic here if you are from outside India and here if you are in India. However, if you don’t want to buy it then go for this DIY toner for Acne prone skin that I am using nowadays in May 2023.
